Sakina Khan

Sakina Khan has built hundreds of success stories in over 25 years of teaching. She is an Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Interventionist and a Structured Word Inquiry Coach equipped with multiple years of dyslexic teaching experience using structured and therapeutic literacy techniques.

After completing her Masters, Sakina followed her inner calling and enrolled in the "AMI" Montessori teacher's training program. She found the approach suitable for the ever-changing learning development of a student's needs. Shortly after that, she worked as a Montessori teacher and decided to establish her Montessori school. Her inclination towards working with students, who had learning difficulties, rose when she witnessed some students complete tasks with a high degree of interest and focus except when it comes to reading and writing. She realized that these smart students, for whom the text was not coming easy, needed different instructions. In the pursuit to help such struggling students, she furthered her training as an Orton-Gillingham dyslexia interventionist and a Structured Word Inquiry Coach.

Trained at the Associate level in the use of Orton-Gillingham therapeutic techniques, specially designed for individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia), she continues to strengthen her belief in the magic of OG. Sakina, also trained as a Structured Word Inquiry Coach, facilitates students to improve their spelling and understanding of the highly structured spelling system. These approaches teach students to bridge their learning gaps and master decoding, encoding, writing, and comprehension skills to acquire grade-level fluency or blossom even further.

Her skills and dedication in working with individuals with diverse needs, unique learning styles, or other underlying conditions such as anxiety, autism, ADD, ADHD, or executive functioning disorder have brought success to many individuals over the years.

Sakina continues to believe in bringing about change, making learning smooth, easy and fun, so students build the love of learning.
